Show FOUR BILLS VETOED Gov Hunt of Idaho Disapproves i Several Measures J TRIBUNE SPECIAL Boise Ida March 19aGov Hunt J again used his veto llbemlly today It fell on four measures One of these was a bill lo amend the charter of tIme Boise Independent school district The Governor holds the measure un conKtllutfonal that It extends special privileges not embraced in the original charter Ills contention is that thero can be no amendment of a special charted excepting such as arc In harmony har-mony with the general law of the State iA bill amending the charter of Low Islon designed to enlarge the powers of the police magistrate was vetoed on similar grounds The Governor points out that the bill gavo the magistrate the right to try without a jury In con travcnilon of Conslltulibn He also j finds the bill sought to amend the charter char-ter with respect to the Assessor of the city hul the mailer wan not mentioned In the title and therefore the bill would be void Another bill that was vetoed was the pharmacy measure He says of It The provisions of lila bill are too severe se-vere and farreaching for the convenience conveni-ence and safety of the public The fourth bill to fall was one giving giv-ing Incorporated towns rower tb bond fro a greater percentage of their assessed as-sessed valuation It was especially designed de-signed to enable Wejser to Issue bonds to an amount sufficient to secure It a waterworks and electric light plant One bill was signed a measure by Hunter giving larger powers to trustees of Incorporated towns W II Taylor of Payetlc has been appointed assistant panAmerican expos ex-pos lion commissioner and Mrs Mary A Wright of Koolonai county has been installed as chief clerk of the commission commis-sion |
