SHORN OF HIS POWER CONGRESS TIRED OF WAITING ON COMMISSIONER PECK I Resolution Introduced in tho House Taking Away His Authority and Placing Matter with State Bureau Washington June Reprcsentatlvo LevI of New York today Introduced the following bill in the House That on and after the passage of the act tho power vested In the commis sionergeneral of the United States to the Paris exposition of 1600 to employ experts and other necessary olllcers or clerks and to disburse appropriations incident to tho participation of incJmt 1urtelpnton tho United States in said exposition Is hereby transferred to the Secretary of State who shall make such appointments appoint-ments and disburse such money as maybe may-be now or hereafter appropriated Tho cOlml lon rgenrl of the United States to the Paris exposition of 1000 is hereby directed to render a monthly report to the Secretary of State of the number or employees their occupation occu-pation and salaries That tho report authorized under thft act of Juno 30 ISW giving the results I re-sults of the exposition shall be prepared pre-pared under the direction of the Secretary Sec-retary of Slate
