Show COMPLAINT FROM EMERY Huntington People Say a Patient was Released too Soon Correspondence Tribune Huntington Dec 30Dr J Shepard an optician who has been quarantined at Castle Dale with tho smallpox passed through hero yesterday on his r way to California lie wanted to remain re-main In Huntington but the people were very Indignant as Shepard had been quarantined only thirteen days I and although he carried a certificate signed by C E Pearson yet he plainly showed the effects of smallpox and we dont think hero that smallpox can I be passed through the contagion period In thirteen days hence the gentleman was not allowed to remain We believe be-lieve hero that this Is a case that should be Investigated by l the State Board of llealtlu Pearson turned Shop ard loose without consulting the local Board of Health and against the advice ad-vice of J E Johnson who Is chairman of the Board of Commissioners Dr T B Bcatty secretary of the I I State Board of Health said last evenIng I even-Ing that he would wire Dr Pearson I who Is at the head of the Emery County Coun-ty Board of Health asking for a statement state-ment of the case Dr Beatty says that Dr Pearson Is a very careful official and ho was Inclined to believe that If he released Shepard the latter was at the time entirely cured |
