This is ono of tho most important ensod tint his been b "fure the courts of this Territory for a long time, u.i it involves the extent of the power of the United States officials in Terrrilories, under tho act of Congress in question, and the power of Congress to legislate for Territories in local matters. Messrs. Fitch & Mann aro engaged for the defence, with Snow & Hoge; and as the proceedings are public, it is presumed pre-sumed there will bo a much larger number in attendance than the place will hold.
