Show LET ALL REJOICE This is the Day When Statehood Will Come A MIGHTY DEMONSTRATION IT WILL ES7 SPOXTOXEOUS AND UNANIMOUS THIIOTJGHOUT UTAH I The Cannon Will Boom Bells Will Ring and Banners Wave Arrangements Ar-rangements For tIle Inauguration Completed Hon J L Raivllns Will Read the Proclamation Line ot March Officially Announced An-nounced Onward and ever on Till the voice of despair is led Till the haven of peace is won And the purpose of God fulfilled Lo clan on clan Lo clan on clan The worlds brave nations gather to be one Clasp hands as brothers neath Colum bias shield Upraise her banner to the shining sun Along her blessed shore One heart one song one dream Man shall be free forever more And love shall reign supreme Preparations have been made for a demonstration which it is hoped will be spontaneous and unanimous throughout the city when the news of the issuance of the presidents proclamation procla-mation is made known Battery A will be stationed on top of Capitol hill and if the news comes before noon the national salute of twentyone guns will be fired promptly at 12 oclock Should it not be received until after that time however the salute wH be fired immediately im-mediately the battery can be signaled after the news comes I is the desire of those in charge of I matters pertaining to a proper recognition recog-nition of the birth of statehood that a soon as the battery begins firing all bells in the city be rung and that the ringing be long and loud that all steam whistles be blown as they were never blown before and that every inhabitant of Salt Lake city do something I some-thing to add to the jollification by setting set-ting off bombs or firecrackers by waving I wav-ing flags or anything in fact that will add even a mite to the demonstration which it is hoped will be such a one as will cause the very hills to tremble and the joyous sound to reverberate the length and breadth of the valley Cut yourselves loose for once then and let all the world know you are glad ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETE The arrangements relative to the inagural programme at the tabernacle taber-nacle were finally completed at a meeting of the executive committee yesterday The choice of a person to read the presidents proclamation fell upon Hon Joseph L Rawlins and the exdelegate will accordingly officiate in that capacity A COMMITTEE REQUEST The committee requests that all incoming in-coming state officers all retiring territorial ter-ritorial officers and all members of the legislature meet at the Templeton hotel at 1030 Monday morning to be assigned to carriages for the parade The committee also decided to provide a place for Mayor Glendinning and ex Mayor Baskin and they are likewise requested to be at the Templeton at the same time The pommittee desire all t be on hand promptly at the hour to avoid delaying the parade LINE OF MARCH CHANGED The committee on inaugural parade ha found it expedient to change the line of march and yesterday issued the following concerning it The right of the c lumn will form on South Temple street between East or Main and West Temple streets the front resting on West Temple When set in motion the procession will move on West Temple to First South eaton eat-on First South to State south on State to Fourth South west on Fourth South to East Temple or Main thence north to South Temple and the place of beginning be-ginning where the column will be dismissed dis-missed The positions to be occupied by the various subdivisions of the parade cannot can-not now be announced owing to the failure of their commanding officers to report as has been several times a tmes requested re-quested Those who have not yet made report as to the certainty of their participation with the number of men who will be under their respective command are again requested to do so at once in order that the arrangement of the procession may not be longer delayed de-layed The beginning of the exercises in the tabernacle having been fixed for 12 oclock noon the column will move at 1 oclock am precisely and those who are not in readiness at that time tme or who have not been assigned to a place will have no alternative but to follow the organized portion in the capacity of civilians and with the general gen-eral public R T BURTON Marshal JNO Q CANNON Chairman Com on Parade BLACK HAWK VETERANS A telegram from the Black Hawk veterans received yesterday announced that owing to the refusal of the railroads roads to give a lower rate than that previously announced the Indian fighters would not come up to participate par-ticipate in the inauguration |
