Show ROOM5 FOR THE JUDGES SELECTING THEIR ArA3lTOrECfT3 AT THE JOIST BtmDEVG Incoming Officials Attend a MeetIng Meet-Ing of the Board of Selectmen T County Officers Qtmriters Governor Wells Justice Zane Judge Ellen and Secretary of State Hammond Ham-mond yesterday afternoon made visit to the joint city and county building for the purpose of deciding upon the location of their offices The panty attended at-tended a special meeting of the board of selectmen where the necessary changes were agreed anon There has been some doubt as to whether two or three district courtrooms court-rooms should be provided as it was thought not more than two judges at any one time would hold court In this county as the third would in all probability pro-bability be engaged in other arts of the district Attorney TVhlttemore made the statement that in view of the enormous business piling up before the courts he thought the three judges would frequently be In session here atone at-one time It was then agreed to use the present probate court room for the probate and equity department while the civil and criminal will be installed in their proper rooms on the fourth floor The supreme court will be on the thirdfloor directly across the hall from the county clerks office At present these rooms are used for the county attorney and witness room but the work of removing the partition has already begun and when completed the quarters will be a > duplicate of the present probate court room Governor Wells will occupy offices on the fourth floor adjoining the district court rooms and County Attorney Whittemore will be installed in two handsome offices directly across the hallway from the chief executives rooms Secretary of State Hammond will also take rooms on this floor but did not decide definitely yesterday upon the exact locaition The superintendent of schools will be located in the basement or first floor and his present quarters given up to some state officer |
