Show MINDS OF MAKYSVALE Renewal of thc Mining Fever Railroad Rail-road Communication Promised Reuben De Witt O S Holderman and T F Glllan arrived in this city yesterday evening from Marysvale where they are engaged in mining min-ing and the other branches of industry that make the vale a desirable place of residence Mr De Witt has been operating the famous fam-ous Dalton and states that the property prop-erty never showed up more favorably even in its palmy days than at present pres-ent The tunnel sent in 102 feet to tap the vein is having drifts run in the ore in both directions and Mr De Witt states that the best gold ore he has ever seen taken from the mine is now being extracted Free gold Is apparent appar-ent through every Dart of a teninch streak near the foot wall which will average over 1000 in gold per ton but the remainder of the vein which Is four and a half feet wide will run 40 or better in gold It is Mr De Witts opinion that there has been more assessment work done in the vale during the past season than the total for the last five years The stimulus behind this renewed activity ac-tivity Is partly the result of the excellent ex-cellent showing made on the Dalton during the past year In which it has been demonstrated that the vein is a fissure and not a series of pockets but by far the most important reason to be assigned for the renewal of the mining fever in that section Is the promise the Inhabitants have that before the end of the present year they will have railroad rail-road communication with the outside world The Rio Grande Western has practically commenced construction on its line from Salina to Richfield and the people of Marysvale have the assurance as-surance that the road will be continued contin-ued A road Into Marysvale would tend much toward the development of the district not only because of the cheaper cheap-er transportation that would be secured se-cured on ores that cannot now be shipped ship-ped but with a railroad it would be possible to nut mills into that region for the treating of the gold ores |
