Show INVADING THE ROOST i EIGHT OFFICERS PURSUING SAN RAFAEL OUTLAWS Led by Joe Bush and E A Ireland and Determined to Wipe Out the Notorious Band of Desperadoes SaUna Press Jack Strange was down from Irelands ranch last week He reported that a force of eight men armed with Winchesters and led by Joe Bush and E A Ireland had started start-ed for the Robbers Roost country with the avowed intention of wiping out the notorious band of cattle thieves and outlaws which makes headquarters headquar-ters in one of the most inaccessible parts of Utah The men In command of Ireland and Bush are a brave and determined lot of fellows and are thoroughly familiar with the country That bloodshed will result there Is no reason to doubt None of those Robbers Rob-bers Roost fellows will be taken alive and the gang will put up a hard fight It looks as if somebody is going to get hurt AN IMAGINATIVE STORY A sheepherder came down from Fish Lake last Monday bringing startling news Mark Pendleton and Rev Anderson Ander-son have been captured by the Robbers Roost gang of bandits It all happened hap-pened last Saturday Pendleton and Anderson had spread their blankets on the banks of the Unclean Devil river The pious domino was perusing a copy of the Doctrine and Covenants and Mark had his pants off and was splashIng splash-Ing around in a deep pool in the stream Suddenly six armed men riding freckled freck-led horses pushed through the bushes fringing the rivers bank and demanded an unconditional capitulation The Salina Sa-lina men showed fight Anderson hurled his book at one of the robbers and Marie splashed water over the horses Despite their cries the two men were seized bound and gagged thrown on to the back of a buckIng broncho and the whole party started off toward the Colorado river The fellow fel-low who brought the information to Salina said that Pendleton and Anderson Ander-son were being held for ransom in one of the most desolate spots in eastern Utah Pendleton will be restored to r lfr nJs f his friends when said friends dig up a I dollar and 40 cents Anderson will be turned loose whenever interested parties choose to flash up six bits The prisoners are treated with great cruelly cruel-ly They are fed on corned beef and canned tomatoes and are given no exercIse ex-ercise whatever George Burns and Dick Hoffheins are organizing a company com-pany of small kids and old women too to-o to the rescue of the hapless Salina lllbusterers Messrs Pendleton and Anderson returned re-turned Thursday from the Nasty Devil river They captured ten trout How they escaped from the Robbers Roost gang Is yet to be told Both men refuse to be Interviewed z I |
