Show AT LOGAN I Y L IT I A SociableMarriage LicensesPersonal Logan June 2GLast evening at 8 oclock 175 guests assembled on the lawn of Mr and Mrs R C Easton The lawn was beautifully decorated with electric lights and Japanese lanterns lan-terns The decorating was done under the direction of Mr R C Easton and was artistically arranged One evergreen ever-green tree was ablaze with incandescent incandes-cent electric lamos Seats werA arrnnirefl in crronnQ on u no I the lawn Lyman R Martineau master mas-ter of ceremonies conducted the pro gramme in an able manner The fete was opened with prayer by President Orson Smith after which followed piano solos by Miss Susie Gates Mrs R W Sloan of Salt Lake and Professor Profes-sor Thomas Finder of Hyrum a recitation recita-tion by Miss Nellie Larsen and solos by R C Easton Miss Nellie Thomas Miss Bessie Morehead duets by R C Easton and Bessie Morehead and by Easton and Mrs William B Preston I jr Mrs Jane Thatcher sang and Mrs Katie Lufkin arid Maud Smith I rendered a piano duet Ice cream and cake were served by the young ladies of the association after which many joined in the waltz to the sweet strains of music by Professor Pinders It was a success and one of the pleasantest social events of the season Orson and Isaac Smith of the stake presidency Bishop B M Lewis Hon John E Carlisle Misses Reynolds and Galiger and Mrs Batey of Salt Lake I Mrs Frank Townsend and Mrs Hoeing Hoe-ing of the stake presidency of Mutual Improvement associations were numbered num-bered among the guests NOTES Marriage licenses have been issued to the following persons this week by Clerk Mathews Robert J Gordon and Farnle Schutt both of Meadowville Robert J Broberg of Park City and Hannah E Erickson of Logan Alma Olson and Mary Ashbacker of College Alexander S Fletcher of Rock Springs and Elizabeth McBride of Wellsville Ludwig Oswald of Grand Ida and Christina Klinger of Rexburg Ida Ariel Corden and Samuel Thatcher of Logan have reached Chattanooga in safety so we are informed by private letter Willard Snow of Ogden was a passenger pas-senger from the north yesterday and left for the south last evening Mrs John E Carlisle of Logan left yesterday for Springville the home of her parents She will spend several weeks with them Mr and Mrs Christian Garff of Ogden Og-den are visiting friends in Logan Dr J1 Tanner Agricultural college col-lege was on the streets yesterday after af-ter an illness of a few days President Elias S Kimball and wife came over to Logan this morning from their home in Mendon David Haws team ran away about noon today breaking the wagon up and injuring the horses seriously No other damage was done Hans Peterson of Richmond who was operated on last Thursday for ap I pendlcitis and was in a critical condition I condi-tion is greatly improved and hope is I entertained for his permanent recov cry At 1 oclock today the city bell gave I the Ore alarm Upon Investigation it I proved to be the sheds and hay of Joseph I Jo-seph Anderson of the Fourth ward The cause of the fire is unknown The loss Is small lions William H Matighn of Wells cHIc and Henry Hughes of Mendon were in town today |
