Show THE CONFIDENCE MINE Is On the Extension of the Stateline Gold Bearing Zone Dr G H Fennimore of Beaver president pres-ident of the state board of pharmacy who is in the city attending a meeting of the board informs The Herald that it Is his intention to do a large amount of effective work this season in the development of his Confidence mine located lo-cated on the Utah and Nevada line about eight miles north of the camp of Stateline in Stateline district concerning concern-ing which so much favorable comment has been heard of late The Confidence was located last summer sum-mer ind the shewing at the surface was so flattering that work was begun at once in the sinking of a shaft on the ledge in which there was a body of quartz considerably decomposed in which gold nuggets were found in profusion pro-fusion With depth however the quartz i grew harder but still it carried e > 4 el lent values and a 45sack shipment aggregating 2600 pounds all but 14 of which were taken from the dump was sold on the Salt Lake market on controls con-trols showing values of 123 in gold anil 42 ounces silver to the ton Work on the property was discontinued discon-tinued last fall but a few days ago a force of several men headed by A H Fennimore a son of the doctor left for the mine with the intention of making more locations if possible and also of doing a large amount of work in the development of the property this spring Since the arrival of the doctor in the city he has heard from his son who states that prospectors have been there before him anI that the ground has been staked oft all the way down to the sp ing owned by the locators of the Confidence and that the indications for a big rush to and a boom for that locality lo-cality this spring are excellent In the same vicinity is the Perseverance Persever-ance mine owned by R Tanner and his associates and Mr Tanner is now on the ground with a force of men prepared pre-pared to open the mine in a thorough manner this summer Dr Fennimore is also interested in the Tank and Sunset locations in Granite Gran-ite district about ten miles west of Beaver and about a mile and a half north of the famous old Rollins mine These are micu Vocations but they are promising ones as the doctor brought in samples of ore with him taken almost from the surface which by file tests show values of 56 per cent lead and 246 ounce in silver to the trn There is a 5inth vein of this grade of mineral almost at the grassroots the L indications being i that values will increase t ca fn crease and the ore zcms attain grater L size with depth and with such a Chow lag thp doctor feels that he will be justified j jus-tified in spending a little hard cash in elopment work the intention being j to begin work as soon as the snow thaws when a tunnel which can be j starU1 at a point very favorable for i tile acquirement of depth at a short i distance i will be i run into the mountain to cut the ledge j |
