county was in the city yesterday I A programme of unusual excellence was rendered at the Waterloo school on Wednesday evening by the pupils of that school A feature of the entertainment enter-tainment was the musical part of the programme which was under the direction di-rection of Miss Minnie Margetts and i Miss Angie Gabbott and which attracted at-tracted no little attention and favorable I favor-able comment Quite a neat little sum was realized which will be applied to the piano fund Miss Mell Forsythe of the Ninth school has the sympathy of the teaching teach-ing fraternity in the loss Warnlck and Professor William M Stewart delivered short addresses Professor Babcock recited re-cited and Misses Swenson and Halli day rendered vocal selections The event was successful In every way and reflected well the good material of the first year class The Dramatic association has aroused itself to active work again The members mem-bers with the aid of Professor Babcock have decided to present to the public the wellknown production A Scrap of Paper The play has been cast and the members are rehearsing regularly The time of presentation can not be definitely stated yet On account of a long lingering illness Professor Mathews has at last found It necessary to discontinue his work at the university for a time The professor profes-sor has not been real well for some months but has been too persistent to lay his work aside The severe winter has worked against him until he finds It necessary to rest and recuperate In a climate more congenial to his weak condition For this purpose
