Show BROOKLYN OFFICIALS INDICTED ThirtyFive of Them Charged With Extravagant travagant Expenditure BROOKLYN Jan 6The grand jury has indicted thirty members of the board of supervisors for extravagant expenditures I expendi-tures in connection with the recent Columbian Co-lumbian celebration The names of the indicted are not made public The jury also recommended that the corporation counsel sue the parties t whom the money was unlawfully paid and also Mayor Boody comptroller city auditor I and board of aldermen Who They Are BROOKLYN Jan 6The most reliable reports current tonight included the following fol-lowing list of indictments The city auditor aud-itor county auditor and twentytwo supervisors su-pervisors all of whom voted to override Supervisor at Large Kinnells vetoes of the Columbian bills Some and possibly all of the aldermens committee on celebration al bration including Aldermen McKee Mc Grath Haney Wafer Fitzgibbons Pickering Pick-ering and Thomas andseveral of the contractors I con-tractors are among them F W Price I committee clerk of the aldermen who furnished the coaches P D Ross and H D Southworth who built the grandstands grand-stands for aldermen and supervisors Francis Weeks who furnished the ushers ush-ers and Frederick Aldrich who decorated decor-ated the county buildings Whether or not any other men who received re-ceived money from the city or county are indicted could not be definitely ascertained ascer-tained About thirtyfive indictments in all were presented Mayor Boody was I seen tonight but refused to talk about the scandal He said he wanted first to seethe see-the contents of the indictments against him |
