free license of Frederick Engberg peddler was renewed for three months Superintendent Hinman of the PoorHouse Poor-House reported verballj on certain items concerning caftes investigated by him William Langton sent in a communication communica-tion protesting against the tax assessed against the Equitable block upon the grounds that it was not in existence on Jan 11892 The matter was referred to the county attorney The counly attorney reported as follows on the petitions of a number of parties for relief from tax sales Claude B Durst reimbursement should be made for land sold for taxes after same j had been paid JohnS Thomson no cause for relief jit I appears that tax was valid but property f was taxed to the wrong person i J B Ingram advised probate judge to execute a deed of release of the countys I I title to certain property referred to as a street i flattie Peak MaryE LeProhn E W Gerter and Louisa Cross advised the refunding I I re-funding of the tax only paid by them in redeeming property in the case of the 1 first three upon proper showing In the I case of Louisa Cross the probate judge should be authorized to execute the usual quit claim deed the property having been sold for taxes after the same had been paid I John Howcroft advised the petitioned relief in similar case The report was read received and filed The petition for J J Snell for relief on I account of an alleged double assessment was referred to the county attorney GAME COMMISSIONER PETITIONS Petitions for the appointment of J M Barrett as fish and game commissioner were read and filed The petition of 11 J McConneville for the appointment of William Burgby as fish and game commissioner was recommended I recom-mended but ordered denied I The county attorney reported wholly on the claim of Dr A S Bauer that he I should be allowed 10 The report was adopted f I I The county attorney reported favorably j on the claim of J B Burbidgo and A J Burt and the claims were allowed The claim of F L Cushing for 4925 was ordered referred to Selectman Butter for investigation The clerk was ordered to advertise for bids for county printing for the ensuing I year in the different daily papers of the cityThe The county clerk reported that he had I turned over 47925 to the county treasurer treas-urer since his last report account merchant mer-chant and peddlers license pauper lease I of school lands and sale of personal property prop-erty The report was filed I The county clerk reported that ho had i received 4 6385 from the territorial treasurer account maps and plats for assessor I as-sessor and collector and road and bridges Ordered filed The sale of certain personal property I owned by Salt Lake county was confirmed The petition of Joseph Bull Jr forthe sale of certain county real estate was read I and referred to the county attorney The oetition of P W Madsen for reli > fin I f-in the case of Lise Hansen sick and destitute des-titute was read and Mr Madsen was I ordered to appear before the court and answer with reference to expense incurred in-curred etc WANTS HIS BOOKS EXAMINED A communication was read from John H Eumel jr asking that a committee be appointed to examine his books and papers pa-pers prior to his retirement fromsaid office of-fice Selectmen Hardy Cahoon and Butter But-ter were appointed to make said examination examina-tion Dr Maclean reported nineteen patients in the city hospitals as follows St Marks thirteen St Marys one Des eret five The report was filed The return and account of the sale of certain real estate belonging to the county was confirmed William Dillon sent in a communication asking that warrant No SS9 be reissued on the grounds that he had lost the orig inal No action taken The petition of John Howcroft for relief for land sold for taxes was granted The question of the claim of Frank Pierce in the sum of 500 for legal services was referred to Selectmen Hardy and Butter LIQUOR LICENSES The following bonds for liquor Connelly of Murray Brown Gushing of Bingham E C Warinski of Murray Hum ot the Courts The case of J H Kissing vs G W Armstrong involving the sum of 25S39 has been taken on a change of venue from I Justice Halls court to Commissioner Martins court A change of venue has been allowed in the case of the Eagle Foundry and Machine Ma-chine company vs Bothwell McCon aughey involving the sum of 72 and it has been sent to Commissioner Greenman by Justice Hall In the case of W H Simmons vs E A Maryon and wife in Wbich the plaintiff recovered a judgment against the defendants defend-ants recently for 200 supplemental proceedings pro-ceedings have taken place before Commissioner Commis-sioner Moyer and he has ordered the defendants de-fendants to turn Over certain property in their possession toward the satisfaction of the Judgment Among the effects to be thus applied is one goldheaaed cane H W Fuller began suit against Edwin W Senior and wife in the Third district court yesterday to collect SOO on a promissory prom-issory note secured by a mortgage Sidney Stevens of Ogden filed an attachment at-tachment suit against Sargent Bros of Coalville in the Third district court yesterday
