THE BENWELL MURDER Another Letter Received at Woodstock Protesting Protest-ing Burchells Innocence WOODSTOCK Nov 11 Another letter concerning the Benwall murder has been received signed by J B Litchfield dated Buffalo In effect it says lama member of the conspiracy which dealt with monied Englishmen who were brought out here to bo robbed of their wealth The letter goes on to say the scheme was in working order previous to Burchelis coming to this country and four of the party were at the swamp when Burchell Burchel and Bonwell came along by They met them and tried to induce Benwell to swear to assist them in the business busi-ness 61 he would be killed Benwell would not listen kied wo shot him and cut his name from his clothing We then told Burchall to get out of the country and gave him what articles we had taKen from Benwell We told Burchall we had chloroformed Ben well and he did not know he had been mur dered The writer says As sure as Burchall dies not one board shall be left of the buildings of the jurymen who sent him there We havo Judge McMahon spotted and should we have to wreck a train to murder him we will and we hereby notify him of the death atvaiting him and the jurymen also if Burchall be punished It will make two men executed for our deed besides one undergoing lifo imprisonment Knrihn11 continues to nrotest his innn cence I Friday Burchall morning will be executed at 9 oclock
