J i FORENSIC WINNERS These Davis High School forensic students were winners j at the recent Box Elder Invitational Tournament. They j are bottom row, 1 to r: Stuart Thatcher, Brenda Lodi j and Jerry Stanger; middle row, Luis Pastrana, Holly j McGee, Leslie Mickelson and Cynthia Sanders; top row, i Susanne Humphreys, Jill Jarman, Mike Draper, J Melanie Darton and Vaness Clont. j By CYNTHIA SANDERS The Davis High Debate and Drama squads recently brought home high honors when they competed at the j 1978 Box Elder Invitational. DAVIS controlled much of : the competition in the final 1 -rounds. Two or more Dans were often among the top six ! finalists in every event. For example, in humorous interp., Jill Jarman, Stuart Thatcher, Willy Carden and Holly McGee ranked as first, second, fourth and fifth place speakers respectively. I IN impromtu, Vanessa Clontz, second place; Luis Pastrana, third; and Melanie Darton, fourth. The top two awards in mono acting were given to Jerry Stanger, first place; and ; Brenda Lodi, second. Susanne ! Humphreys ranked fiflh. FIRST AND second places in pantomime were earned by Lance Matticks and Leslie Mickelson. Davis also did well in boy's extemp with Bart Uharriet taking first place and Wally Greenwell taking third. THE FINAL round of girl's extemp included Cynthia Sanders, third; and Sue Hansen, fourth. In Oratory, qualifying for final round were Mike Draper and Holly McGee. THESE high awards and rankings gave DHS the first place sweepstakes award. v |
