Show P ' EG. NEWMAN Funeral Rites Held Edward 'Ted" Gulick Newman New-man of Centerville, age 88, died Monday, Feb. 27, 1978 in a John Day Oregon hospital. HE WAS born September 16, 1889 at Salt Lake City, to William Jackson and Mary Gulick McKean Newman. Married June France, April 26, 1919 at Salt Lake City. She died February 11, 1959. He resided in Centerville from 1924 to 1977. He taught shop classes at West High School for about 20 years. Later he worked as a contractor contrac-tor and built many homes and business offices in Davis County. He traveled extensively exten-sively and excelled in cooking. He was a member of the LDS Church. HE is survived by a daughter Mrs. Darwin (Nancv) Arnell of John Day City, Oregon; grandsons, Clay of John Day City, Oregon and Mark with the military in Germany. Ger-many. Funeral services were held. Friday March 3, at 12: 00 noon in the Russon Brothers Bountiful Boun-tiful Mortuary Chapel, with William B. Rigby conducting. Family prayer was given by Hugh Ebmeyer. Prelude and postlude music by Leone Fisher; invocation by David F. Parrish; remarks by William B. Rigby. MUSICAL selection, "In The Garden" by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Peterson accompanied accom-panied by Judy Knowles; remarks by William Newman; benediction was given by SeymoreD. Rigby. Interment was in the Centerville Cen-terville Cemetery; Glen Barber gave the dedication of the grave. Pallbearers were Fenton Arnell, Ned Smoot, David Newman, Robert Newman New-man and Nick Newman. |
