No admission will be charged. The show comprises of 10 scenes depicting various times throughout our 200 years history as they might affect a family situation. The show moves along at a fast pace using music, dance, comedy and drama to tell the story of the American Family. -j The periods of time to be featured will be the Colonial period, the Frontier period, the Civil War period, the ' Immigration period, the World War I Era, the Roaring 20's, the Depression years, World war II, the 1960's and the 1970's. Harry Phillips did the script and had a wealth of audience pleasing elements to work with. George Stoll I directed the production with Kent Lundquist as music director. Lorraine Wilkinson has composed a stirring ' song "The American Family Anthem" for the finale. & l Number 5. Larry Jensen tries to generate some family participation in family night. . a situation staged for the 1970's segment of the "American Family." This scene helps us recall some of the profound statements made by past leaders concerning the importance of the rf family. Others in the scene are Sharlene Jensen, Scott Jorgenson, Lisa Brown, Jan Hill and Susan Hurley. Number 1. The zany madness of the 1920's comes to life as the Bountiful East Stake Young Adults perform the "Charleston," the "Blackbottom" and a great" 1920's tango. The evils of a Prohibition Speakeasie are experienced by a group of college students. . Dancers include: Donna Robinson, Joe White, Brent Sainsbury. Randy Reed who directed the dances, Connie Eggett, Jan Walker and others. Number 2. Paula Gillette dances the vigorous "Sohnklatter" from Austria in the Immigration Period scene. In this segment four families j of differing nationalities attend a Greek wedding. Their appreciation for the occasion is shown by doing dances from their native lands. Number 3. A scene depicting America as the melting pot of the world is told in the "Immigration Period" segment of "American Family." LuAnn Gillette directs this scene which features dances from other lands. Number 4. The Russian "Hopak" comes alive as the dancers under the direction of Lu Ann Gillette go through the steps in rehearsal. Jan Walker does a turrrwith the help of partner Kent Stanger. In the background LuAnn Gillette, a stand-in for the moment, dances with J Le Grand Hubbard. Number6.
