Show Is Candidate For State Legislature J. Dean Hill recently announced an-nounced his filing for candidacy can-didacy to the Utah House of Representatives for District 55 in Bountiful on the Republican ticket. HE HAS served in the house for four terms, 1965 through 1972, chief clerk of the House 1973-74, chairman of Public Safety Committee 1967-70, member of Legislative Council Coun-cil 1969-70. His major concerns include the lack of coordination between recent state Supreme Court rulings on alcohol and the driver and the statutes as they exist and intent of the legislature concerning those laws. HE IS also concerned about the current thrust of HEW regulations as they relate to Title IX and the school systems sys-tems of Utah. DEAN HILL pears that these regulations go far beyond what was intended in-tended by the Congress in their legislative enactment that fostered Title IX concepts. con-cepts. I believe strongly that ERA is an unnecessary exercise of legislative effort and the aims of ERA are best handled on a state basis working on state problems. HE IS a consulting civil engineer en-gineer with Bingham Engineering En-gineering in Bountiful and 'nas resided in Davis County for 18 years and greatly values the Utah heritage that we enjoy. He resides at 274 West 1300 North with his wife Virginia and five children. He has been a member of the Tabernacle Choir since 1956. |
