Little Nancy Ann Dill, four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo Dill, who was injured Monday Mon-day afternoon when she ran into the rear guard of a passing motor J vehicle near the family home on Highway 91, west of St. George, is reported making speedy recovery recov-ery at the local hospital, although she suffered a bad fracture of the right hip and other injuries. je. -v--vc -w Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Mathis left Tuesday for Pheonix, Arizona, where Mr. Mathis will attend a meeting for the Utah Livestock Production Credit association held there today and Friday. Mr. Mathis is a director of the association. asso-ciation. Mrs. Robert Reber of Little-field Little-field received medical care in the local hospital last Thursday and Friday. The purpose of the Food Stamp Plan now operating in several Utah counties is to raise the farm income and at the same time to improve the dietary standards of low-income consumers. In the distribution of food surpluses, it utilizes existing channels of food distribution, with whatever benefit this may bring to those engaged or employed in the food industries. - Orval Hafen left Wednesday to attend the regular monthly meeting meet-ing of the Commissioners of the State Board being held in Salt Lake City on Friday. They will remain in St. George for several weeks before returning to their home in Ogden. Mr. Malin, who was crippled more than three years ago in a car accident ac-cident is making improvement. 8 Louis Pectol motored to Salt Lake City over the week-end to take Mrs. Alden Pectol and her children for medical care at the Shriners hospital. Master Greg Snow, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Eric Snow and pupil of Prof. Earl J. Woodbury Wood-bury returned Monday from a brief business trip to Los Angeles. Mrs. Walter S. Jensen was hostess host-ess at a dessert Bridge Tuesday afternoon at her home. Everett Syphus and Leon Jennings are joining Saturday evening in entertaining at a post-nuptial shower honoring Mi's. Hamblin Bracken, the former Lois Jennings, whoso marriage was announced recently. The affair will lio hold in the banquet rooms with many relatives and friends being invited. Mrs. Bracken plans to leave for the coast to be near San Luis Obispo where her husband is a sergeant in the Army camp. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Simmons were hosts to the Wednesday Evening Eve-ning Bridge club at their home on Mar. 26. Twelve guests were present, pres-ent, with prizes going to Mrs. Gordon Whitehead and Morton Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Antone Nisson of Provo were guests over the week-j week-j end of Mrs. Nisson's sisters, Mrs. Laron S. Andrus and Mrs. M. O. Hutchings. Discharges from the hospital over the past week include Mrs. Calvin Ruesch, Mrs. Morris Friedman Fried-man and baby, Mrs. Mabel Hunt of Gunlock, and Mrs. F. A. Schmidt and baby. Mrs. Bernell Batson is spending the week in Cedar City with Mrs. Otto Fife. Friends of Miss Genevive Asay honored her with a surprise birthday birth-day anniversary party at her home last Tuesday evening. Mr. -and Mrs. H. C. Cottam are announcing the arrival of their first grandchild, a son born to Dr. and Mrs. Alma H. Cottam in Chicago, March 19. The mother is the former Naomi Melville of Salt Lake City. Dr. Cottam graduates grad-uates this spring from Rush Medical Medi-cal College in Chicago, and after three months employment with the Inland Steel Company in eastern east-ern Kentucky will interne in St. Luke's hospital, Chicago. |
