Show Over 250 Attend Wedding Reception Here For Mr. and Mrs. Norman nunt More than 250 relatives and friends responded to the invitation invita-tion Tuesday evening, Dec. 30, to attend the wedding reception given in the L. D. S. Institute building by Mr. and Mrs. John Whipple honoring their daughter, Evelyn Nelson, who was married earlier in the day at the St. George Temple to Norman Hunt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Hunt of Enterprise. Pres. Harold S. Snow officiated at the marriage ceremony. In the reception line besides Mr. and Mrs. Whipple, were Hal Lund, of Modena as best man, Mrs. Frank Milne of Cedar City, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, and Miss Maxine Nelson, cousin of the bride, as maid of honor, and Mr. and Mi's. Hunt, parents of the groom. v Guests were received at the door by Hale Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miles, and Frank Milne of Cedar City. Ushers were K. D. Williams and John Miller. For the reception the bride wore her wedding dress of heavy white slipper satin with a floral patterned pat-terned yoke in seed pearls and long, imperial train. Her floor-length floor-length bridal veil was of silk net edged with imported lace and and fell from a halo cap of seed pearls. Her boquet was of red and white rose buds and white carnations with shower streamers. Mrs. Whipple wore black taffeta taf-feta trimmed in gold braid; Mrs. Milne was gowned in black taffeta taf-feta with corsage of sweetheart roses, Maxine Nelson wore white lace over shell pink satin and Mrs. Hunt was in wine red velvet. Also present was the bride's grandmother, Alice Miles. Giant baskets of gladiolus and lillies in pink and white were used in room decorations. Presiding in the serving room was Mrs. W. W. Cannon, with Mrs. Hale Pearce in peach-colored silk and Mrs. Rex Nelson in Alice Blue taffeta, pouring. Assisting As-sisting in serving were Caroline Cottam, Helen Brooks, Ruby Seegmiller, Seeg-miller, Ramona Hafen, LaWana Hyatt, LaNorma Seegmiller and Zola McGregor. An elaborate three-tiered wedding cake centered the serving table. Included in the evening's program pro-gram directed by Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Cannon and Mae A. Pace, were vocal solos by Caroline Cottam, Cot-tam, Mrs. Orval Hafen, Jos. W. McAllister, and Mrs. Rex Nelson; saxophone duets, Stanley and Ray Schmutz; vocal duets, Adrene Cottam Cot-tam and Mary Lou Schmutz; violin vio-lin duets, Von B. Cottam and Milton Schmutz; piano duets, Marilyn Cox and Maxine Bryner, and Ila Holt and Caroline Stucki; clarinet solo, Wilden Tweedie; trumpet solo by Junior LeRoy Walker; piano solo by Paul Thompson and readings by Mae M. McAllister, and Miss Helen Brooks. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt will reside in St. George. Both are prominent promi-nent in student activities, Mr. Hunt specializing in music. |
