Show Attendance Record Set At Temple On Jan. 1st New Year's Day services at the St. George Temple recorded an , attendance of more than 125 . persons, with 50 coming from Las 1 Vegas to attend the sessions. Pres. Harold S. Snow conducted . the devotional program preceding the ordinance work, and in harm- ony with the declaration of President Presi-dent Franklin D. Roosevelt of the . i United States, the theme of this I service was prayer, in behalf of the allied nations who are battling bat-tling for the preservation of the principles- of Liberty and Freedom and for the dedication and consecration conse-cration of the people to this cause. An hour of the program was devoted to testimony-bearing and congregational singing. After which Martin L. Bunker led in the special supplication as nationally na-tionally requested throughout all churches, and as many of the testimonies test-imonies had done, this prayer reflected re-flected the assurance of the L. D. S. church . members that there is power in concerted fasting fast-ing and prayer and that God will not forsake those who battle for righteous principles. The Fast day services held throughout the four wards on Sunday were also devoted to this same theme, in keeping with the proclamation issued by the first presidency of the church, to its membership throughout the world. |
