Show Educational Book To Include Mrs. Brooks' Story "The Water's In," is again on its way out through other sources. Perhaps to some, this statement is a trifle confusing, but this explanation ex-planation will clarify the situation, especially for those who have read Juanita Brooks' story, "The Water's Wa-ter's In", which was printed in Harper's last May, and again in the Reader's Digest. A letter received by Mrs. Brooks since the New Year from Walter Loban, of the Northwestern North-western university, of Illinois, asks the privilege of using her interesting inter-esting story in an anthology of short stories which the school of education of that institution is editing shortly, for use in Secondary Sec-ondary schools, with Harcourt. Brace publishers. Just what, if any. remuneration may come from this contribution is not known, but the privilege of being included in such a publication pub-lication is encouraging and Mrs. Brooks has written Mr. Lohan civing her permission for 'The Water's In", to be used. And j thus, we say. "The Water's In", is again going out in other direc- I tions. |
