Show Charles Henry Miles, Former Dixieite, Dies At Home in Salt Lake City Charles Henry Miles, 70, native Dixie boy, died at his home in Salt Lake City, 75 C street, at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 24, after a prolonged illness. He was a veteran school teacher of both St. George and Salt Lake City. Born in St. George July 2, 1870, he was a son of Samuel and Hannah Colburn Miles. His father is remembered as Dixie's first schoolmaster and this son followed the career of his father in long years of service as school teacher. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Minnie Mangum Miles, two sons, Dr. Burke Miles, Donald M. Miles, a daughter, Mrs. . Marjorie M. Murdock and four grandchildren; also one sister, Minnie Miles Mathis of St. George. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p. m., in the Twenty-seventh ward L. D. S. chapel at 185 B street, Salt Lake City. |
