Show S Reception To Honor Well Known Matron Mrs. Eva Maeser Crandall, wid-dow wid-dow of Myron E. Crandall and well-known church and civic worker, work-er, will be honored Sunday on the occasion of her seventieth birthday anniversary with an open house reception given at her home, 956 South Main street, from 3 until 6 p. m. The function is being given by her family and a cordial invitation invita-tion is extended to all her friends and relatives to call on her at this time. Mrs. Crandall was born on June 21, 1876, a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Karl G. Maeser. Her husband, to whom she was married mar-ried on June 25, 1902, died in 1930. They were the parents of seven sons and daughters, M. Maeser Crandall of Hurricane, Karl K. and Sterling M. Crandall of Salt Lake City; Gordon E. Crandall of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Anna C. Warner of Payson; K. Carlisle and Lowell W. Crandall of Springville. There are also seventeen grandchildren. grand-children. Both Mrs. Crandall and husband hus-band have taken part in musical circles in this locality and have been active church and civic workers. Mrs. Crandall is the author of many fine literary contributions among them several pageants which have received much favorable favor-able comment. Among them are, "Pioneer Mother," produced at the high school for the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, also the pageant depicting the life of John Hafen, and the Bible pageant, the latter having received recognition from the Relief Society general board and which has been presented in many stakes of the church. For many years, she has been a capable and inspiring music instructor. in-structor. Mrs. Crandall has also held many responsible positions in church, including that of a number num-ber of the stake Relief Society boaroV for a number of years. |
