Show PROBER STUDIES MISUSE OF WELFARE ROLLS An investigation into facts sur-runding sur-runding the purported use of welfare wel-fare recipient rolls for election purposes in Utah county, was being be-ing conducted Saturday by Arthur T. Hoadley, Washington, D. C, special investigator, civil service commission. Following pre-election reports that welfare recipients of Utah county were sent political matter through the mails during election of Mrs. Delia Loveridge, state senate sen-ate Democratic candidate, the civil civ-il service commission opened investigation in-vestigation to learn if the Hatch act, which prohibits political activity activ-ity directed at persons who receive payment or partial payment through federal funds, had been violated. Wendell Grover, state welfare commissioner, admitted having permitted access to mailing lists to a "Utah county taxpayer." Mr. Hoadley said he could make no report re-port tefore returning to Washington Wash-ington regarding his investigations. |
