Show Father of Local I Woman Dies in Provo Hospital i - I Edward George Wirstlin, 63, native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning in the Utah Valley hospital after having been hospitalized three days. Mr. Wirstlin came to Utah in January and for the past three months has been living with a daughter, Mrs. Eldon Ashcraft at 696 South 2nd East. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, December 5, 1888, a Son of John Jacob and Katherine Weiss Wirstlin. He was a retired railroad rail-road man having worked as a machinist for the Ptock Island Railroad Company in Minneapolis, Minn. Active in church work, he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as secretary and clerk of the Des Moines, Iowa, branch. He is survived by one son and two daughters: Carl E. Wirstlin, New Virginia, Iowa; Mrs. Dorothy Peterson', Newport, Minn. ; Mrs. Eldon (Frances) Ashcraft, Spring-! ville. There are 9 grandchildren , and 3 great grandchildren. Four j brothers and one sister: John W. ! Wirstlin, Armour, South Dakota; I Fred Wirstlin, Marshalltown, Iowa; George and Charles Wirstlin, Wirst-lin, Tama, Iowa; Mrs. Katy Young of Cedar Papids, Iowa. Funeral services and burial will t be in Des Moines, Iowa. i |
