Show ROOF GARDEN ON THE j HOTEL UTAH OPENED j Despite threatening weather, the open- ing of the beautiful new roof garden on top of the Hotel Utah last night was attended at-tended by a large number of Salt Lake's smart set and later on by two or three i score of the prominent railroad men of the Gould system, who are stopping there j during the three -day conference of the j "Gould family." The roof garden promises prom-ises to be more than an ordinarily attractive at-tractive place to dine, or while away an idle hour during the summer months. The open-air portion of the garden is . tastily furnished with tables and cha irs of the willow type which, .with the potted plants, the trellises and arbors, give it a delightful Japanese effect. The covered cov-ered portion, which is'largely covered by glass, has a good -si zed dancing floor, where the regular "fans" from the grill below maA" continue to enjoy in perfect comfort during the summer months the fi latest of the dance creations. And they ' S may dance them to the same splendid orchestra which did fa I thful duty in the -grill during the winter evenings. The garden was opened for dinner, with p every table reserved and more clamoring for pla ces. La ter 4n the evening when w tiie diners began to leave there was room I for those who had not made reserva- tions. and during the entire evening Salt Lake's newest playground, rivaling tiie best roof gardens of the leading eastern hotels, was the scene of a happy "coming "com-ing out" party. |
