Show Suicide. Yesterday Henry Mink-j ley, employed at tho crushing and I sampling works of S. W. Howland & Co., went home for dinner, to his residence resi-dence in the 10th Ward, partook of that meal, borrowed a pistol from a , neighbor, ostensibly to shoot a skunk, went into his room and deliberately shot himself through the right breast. Mr. Jenks, foreman of the crushing and sampling works, was soon there, and Mr. Howland hurried down with surgical aid, but the unfortunate man was past remedy and died in the course 1 of the afternoon. Ho wa3 unmarried, said to be about twenty-eight or thirty years of age, and is spoken of as a quiet, hard working man. Though unmarried, family troubles arc believed to have been the cau;c of tho rash and terrible act. |
