Show SOIL-AVEQB SOIL-AVEQB tiinlah Basin Soil Conservation Dislrict News William Karren, of Jensen, is proceding with preliminary investigations for construction of 1500 lineal feet of log and cable revetment to prevent further fur-ther bank cutting on Brush Creek. During the flood last spring the banks cut more than 15 feet into the farm land. Mr. Karren is already hauling logs and trees to the site. - SCD - Harold McKee and Clifton McCoy are ready to start construction con-struction on a drain for their farms at ' Maeser. An investigation investiga-tion was nfiade by John Swen-son, Swen-son, soil scientist for the Uintah Basin Soil Conservation District, during 1952. .The investigation showed where the water came from, when it" came and how much water there was to get rid of. With this information a line was located which would most likely drain the fields. - SCD - Land has been staked for leveling on ' the Stan Nebeker farm in Avalon; Morley Dean, Independence; Wilford Bastian, Leota. It looks like a big' year for, leveling. Grant Parrish tells us that Red Stewart reports he has almost al-most completed the construction of the Sunshine Canal heading above Jensen. Red has worked under a handicap. All of the work has been done during cold weather. - SCD - Dick Coltharp reports that Uintah Independent Canal Co. of Hayden and Neola will build a flume with dividing gates, a large Parshall measuring weir I and maybe a canal heading this spring. The designs have been prepared through the Uintah Basin Soil Conservation District. |
