Show I Rams NicV Redmen To Capture Court Honors The first the annual battles between the Parowan Rams and the Cedar City Redmen Iron County high school squads proved an Interesting exhibition that saw a fighting Ham quintet fight back from a 11-point deficit to win, going away, 65 to 52. Outstanding talents of Kenyon Clark and Kenneth Simklns of the Rams were put to good use in the middle of the third per-j iod when the Rams caught fire after trailing by 11 points 50 to 39. Within four minutes time, end of the third period, the Rams had moved to within one point, 49 to 50 and the fourth period the squad of John Wood took command com-mand and held the Redmen to two counters while compiling a total of 16 for themselves. That was not the nature of the early portion of the game. Cedar High moved out into a first quarter quar-ter lead, 17 to 10 with Sheldon' Bowler heading the way for the Redmen. Bowler hit three field goals from near the foul line to lead the Redmen to the early lead. At one point In the second period per-iod the Rams tied it up at 21 all, but the Redmen again moved out In front setting up a pattern pat-tern of play and Weston Kitchen taking passes under the basket for easy layups. Score was never- tneiess tieci at 27 ail, ZS-all. and 30-all before two of Kitchen's buckets and one by Steve Yer-gensen Yer-gensen put the Redmen out in lead 36 to 31 at halftime. The two squads exchanged three quick baskets In the third period with Clark hitting all three for the Rams and Bowler hitting for two and Kitchen hit-tin?; hit-tin?; another for the Redmen. The Redmen then moved out to a 48 to 37 lead; Eugene Robh of Paro-wan Paro-wan brought the Rams to 39 and Karl Braithwaite put the margin back at 11 with another field goal. It was Simklns who really got the ball rolling for the Rama at this point, hitting three consecutive consecu-tive baskets, and all from close in shots, with Robb adding two more before the quarter to bring the score to 50 to 49. In the fourth period, Robb tipped tip-ped in the first two pointer, followed fol-lowed by a hook by Clark, a set shot by Robb, another unde and back hooker by Clark and two points off the fast break by Dennis Den-nis Lowlier to give the RRams a 59 to 50 lead. With three minutes min-utes elapsed In the period Phil Vergensen hit a field goal from 15 feet out for the only Redmen score in the eight minutes of play and the Rams rolled on to an easy victory.
