Show Galen Douglas dies in Reno 1 y j 1 ri I r ' 1 Galen Lewis Douglas, 75, of Janevill, Calif., died at a hospital in Reno, Mev. of cancer Friday, July 8, 1977. Douglas was born March 30, 1902, in Mountain Home Arkansas to William Oliver and America Jane Denning Douglas. On August 17, 1940, he married Carrie Haynes in Las Vegas. Douglas was a machinery foreman for the Fruit Growers Association. He was a lifetime member of the Elks and also a member of the Hurricane Senior Citizens. Survivors include his wife, Carrie of Hurricane; mother, Mrs. America Hunsucker of Hurricand; and two sisters, both of Hurricane. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. in the Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary with Bishop Glenn E. Stratton conducting. The family prayer was offered by Paul Douglas and Lane Shumway gave the invocation. A quartet consisting of Paul Thurston, Lane Shumway, Ersel Hall and LaFayette Staheli sang two musical numbers. Speakers included Bishop GALEN LEWIS DOUGLAS Stratton and Leo Reeve. The benediction was offered by Dallas Hartman. Dedicatory prayer was given by Joseph Judd. Pallbearers were the member of the Elks Lodge number 1556 of Cedar City. Flowers were taken care of by the Hurrican Third Ward Relief Society. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary. |
