Show James Heywood, Church and Civic Worker dies; honored at Services Mrs. Paul (Mary) Robinson, American Fork. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, one great grandchild and brothers and sisters: Austin, Florida, where he is serving on an LDS Mission; M. Kav. Panguitch; Edgar True, Wasco, Calif.; Mrs. Fred (Rhoana) Sargent, Mrs. Roy (Martha) Hatch, Mrs. (Margaret) Phillips and Mrs. Wayne (Ethel) Watts, all of Provo; and Mrs. Clarence (Edith) Giles, Mesa. Ariz. Burial was in the Panguitch City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. I the Music Arts Committee and was a member of the Iron County Welfare Board. He was a member of Rotary International. In his church he served as a member of the Cedar Stake High Council and as a member of the Presidency. He was a Sunday School Superintendent, served as Bishop of the Cedar Fifth Ward and he and his wife recently served and LDS mission to Nauvoo, 111. At the time of his death he was serving as an ordinance worker in the St. George LDS Temple. He was born June 27, 1906 at Panguitch to Joseph Edgar and Margaret Effie Henrie Heywood. He married Nellie Sargent Sept. 15, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Heywood attended Utah State University, Brigham Young University and Henegar Business College. Survivors include his wife of Cedar City; sons and daughters: Mrs. Gaylan (Janice) Bagley, Torrance, Calif.; Mrs. Leon (Winnie) Stevenson, Walnut, Calif.; James Kay, Tustin, Calif.; Joseph L., Brigham City; JAMES HEYWOOD Funeral services for former member of the Cedar Stake presidency and active businessman and church worker, James Heywood, 70, were held Wednesday, June 15 at the Cedar Tenth Ward Chapel. Hewood died at his home Sunday morning, June 12 of natural causes. He was a retial tire and recapping manager and owner of Lunt-Heywood and Rolling Rubber, Inc. Active in community affairs he served on the Cedar City Council, was a member of |
