Show Rites Conducted Friday for Phillip D.Colvin Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Friday afternoon in the Third ward chapel by Bishop Fernlelgh Gardner, for Phillip D. Colvin. Mr. Colvin was killed instantly by electrocution Monday, July 7, when a steel winch he was operating op-erating came in contact with electric wires overhead. Speakers at the services were Congressman Walter K. Granger, C. B. Cooley, and Harold Cline of Milford. Remarks were also1 made by Bishop Gardner. The musical program Included a vocal duet "Whispering Hope," by Mrs. Hazel Granger and Reed Roberts; a violin solo by Roy L. Halversen, accompanied by his daughter Renee, and a vocal duet, "In The Garden," by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wood. Organ music was by Mrs. Roberta Roberts, Rob-erts, who also was accompanist for the two vocal numbers. Invocation was by Rev. William Wil-liam Burton, and benediction by I. E. Riddle. Burial was in the Cedar City cemetery, with the dedicatory prayer spoken by Owen Mathe-son. |
