Show A merican little League Ken Bettridge is champ CEDAR CITY Ken Bettridge beat Realty World 5 to 0 for the championship in a Cedar American League playoff game played Tuesday night. Realty World stomped 7-Up 31-6, with Jason Battiste going the distance on the mound, and shut out Kiwanis 13-0, with Delynn Corry hurling the ball. Realty World's slug-fest slug-fest against 7-Up was led by Corry with a home run and Mike Dedrick with two. Battiste, M. Dedrick and Mark Lasson also doubled. Against Kiwanis, Corry game up only one hit and hit a triple. Chris Dedrick doubled. Bettridge shut out 7-Up 17-0 and was rained out of the other game. Winning pitchers were Ernie Bulloch and Brett Barton giving up two hits between them. Robbie Knight led the hitting with two doubles, and Clay Tom and Barton each hit one. Kiwanis slipped by Boyers 10-9, led by Jason Slack with two triples and Greg Slack with one. Shane Christensen doubled. Throwing the ball for the winners were Daniel Cotts, Christensen and J. Slack. Shawn Morrell went the distance for Boyers, while Matt Callison slammed out a home run and Kyle Callison and Todd Boyer play. The game was called because of darkness and time due to long innings resulting from walks and errors. Kurt Roundy and Brian Workman were the winning pitchers, with Lance Taylor getting the only extra base hits. He hammered out a home run and two doubles. Derek Giles and Greg Larson threw for Carter Brothers, and Scott Forsyth hit the only extra base hit with a doulbe. Last week's action ended with Rotary picking an 11-8 win over Spillsbury. Lee Roundy was the winning pitcher with his teammates Brandon Milne, Tracey Palmer, Wendy Weaver, Jared Farrish and Stacey Palmer hammering out doubles. Eric Garrett went the distance for Spillsbury, and Vance Smith nabbed a two-bagger. hit two baggers.
