Show H " ' f I Ogderis Banks Show Importance of City I As Financial Center for Western States Importance of Ogden as one of the west's financial centers has- long been recognized. Its seven banking houses have attained each year more and more prominence, not only because of the constant increase in deposits but also because of the splendid management of the banks. The deposits have mounted until the totals have retched the greatest ever known in the history of the city, the percentage of increase being more than with cities of corresponding size throughout ' the United States. Ogden banks have extended business with depositors not only throughout 1 northern Utah but in other western states as well. Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and Wyoming are included in the list. One of Ogden's banks has passed the five million dollar mark in deposits, another is reaching near the four million mark and all have passed the million dollar mark. A recent compilation, made from the December statements of the banks, shows that the seven institutions have total resources of $24,203,609 and that the deposits are $18,635,968. Computing Com-puting that Ogden is a city of 35,000 inhabitants, this would mean a per capita deposit in Cgden's I banks of $532 |
