Show FORMER LOCAL MAN DIES OF PNEUMONIA I IN WEST VIRGINIA 4 j. W. E. ELMORE. 11'' : su IF ' News of the death of W. R. Elmore, well known in ratlroad circles of the west and formerly a resident of Salt Lake, on Sunday at Charleston, W. Va., of pneumonia pneu-monia following influenza, has been received re-ceived here. Mr. Elmore was a salesman sales-man connected with the Bettilyon Home Builders company during his residence in this city. He came to Salt Lake to make his home from Ely, Nev., where he was master mechanic of the Nevada Northern railroad. He left some time ago for West Virginia as master mechanic in the government construction works at Nitro, hut was stricken only three days after his arrival there. Mr. Elmore, who was 52 years old. was born at Greenville, S. C. For twenty years he was in railway service. He lived for years at Atlanta, later going to Colorado, where he was general foreman of the Denver & Rio Grande railroad i shops. During his residence in Colorado Mr. Elmore served a term in the house of representatives. The body has bee'n taken to Atlanta for funeral and burial. Mr. Elmore leaves his widow, of Salt Lake, two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Schoenfeld and Miss Hattie Elmore, and one son, George Elmore, of Atlanta. j |
