Show Unique Writing Found on Board in Opera Houses Special to The Tribune. PROVO. Oct. 29. Tho following writing writ-ing was found on a piece of board in the Provo opera house, which is now being remodeled for an X. G. 1". armory: "This was written in the year of our Eord 1885 when this building was erected erect-ed for the amusement of the drama-loving people of Provo and vicinity. "This year we have been harassed by tent caterpillars, spring frost and deputy dep-uty rnarsha Is, and this place baa been put up to help the Saints to forget their troubles, and rejoice in what blessings the Home Dramatic company may be able to bestow upon them from the stage of this temple of Thalia. So mote ft be. (Shrned) "THEO. M. SAMCELSE.V. "June 17, 18S5." The writer of the foregoing epistle was a well-known carpenter, residing in Provo, Pro-vo, who was employed in the buildinp of the opera house. He died a number of i years ago. |
