The bridegroom secured leave of absence and the bride met hint here for the wedding. The bride wore a blue serge costume and carried ink roses. The breakfast table lias a basket of pink roses as a centerpiece. The couple will remain at the Hotel Utah until Thursday. Mr. Ressell will then return to the training camp at Lupin Lu-pin and his bride will go to Springville tn make her home for the duration of the war. The wedding guests included Miss Ar-leen Ar-leen Miner of Springville. T. A. Daiton and Miss Hilda Daiton of this city. A prettily' appointed bridge tea, with a limited number of guests, the first of a peries. was given yesterday afternoon by Miss La Trice Belcher, at her homo on Third East street, in honor of Mrs. A. E. Lewis, formerly Miss Edna Shepherd, who is spending a short while in Salt Lake. The guests were entertained at bridge, followed by tea. The tea table had a silver sil-ver basket of lavender chrysanthemums as a centerpiece, with lavender tulle on the handle. The hostess was assisted by her mother, moth-er, Mrs. J. R. Belcher; Mrs. William X. Lewis and Mrs. Homer Sherwood. Musi-' Musi-' cal selections were given during the afternoon af-ternoon by Miss Riene Kyriaopoulos. The guests included Mrs. A. K. Lewis, Mrs, J. A. Handin, Mrs. Don Campbell, Mrs. William Lewis, Mrs. W. M. Farlon, Mrs. Harry Fisher Brown. Mrs. E. E. Byer, Mrs. L. J. Hays, Mrs. James Ivers, Jr., Mrs. Lila S. Foster and Mrs. Clarence Nelson. Young girls of the domestic science departments de-partments of Rowland Hall and the L. D. S. university are doing excellent service ser-vice in furnishing dainty dishes for the luncheons sent out from' Community Kitchen at Civic Center to those suffering suf-fering from influenza and served at the ccntenfor nurses attending influenza patients.'' pa-tients.'' ' i The Red Cross auxiliary of the Ladies' Literary club will meet at the clubhouse today for all day sewing and gauze work. Gauze workers are requested to wear masks.
