Show AUSTRIA'S REPLY VIEWED IN LIGHT OF FULL SURRENDER LONDON. Oct. 29. Austria's reply to President Wilson is viewed as an unconditional uncon-ditional surrender. Additional interest Is given the note in view of the effect it will inevitably havq on the position of Germany. "It removed," says the Telegraph, "any lingering doubt as to the total de feat of Germany, for which, besides being be-ing a most grave military misfortune, it involved ultimate crushing political defeat, de-feat, a3 it destroys the monstrous fabrio known as pan -Germanism." The Chronicle says: "It completes the isolation of Germany, which must be prepared pre-pared to meet Invasion from the Austrian Aus-trian side, where the whole Italian army will be able to operate against it." The Daily News likens the chaos in Austria-Hungary to that in Russia, adding: "Chaos may soon follow In Germany." |
