Show PI. Grove Fort Wall Monuments to Be Dedicated On Saturday, Cct. 11 from 5:30 to 6 p.m. the monument marking the old Pleasant Grove Fort Wall will be dedicated. The Explorers of the Tim pan -ogos District are marking the four corners of the fort. wall in honor of the early pioneers of Pleasant Grove. In 1853 Brigham Young urged the pioneers to build a fort for protection from the Indians. A two foot six inch rock wall from 3 to five feet high, 4 city blocks square was built. The brief dedication ceremony will be highlighted by the attendance at-tendance of Dr. Howard R. Driggs representing the Pioneer Trails and Landmarks Association Associa-tion and Scout Executors of the Utah National Parks Council. |
