Wood's "The Foreigner" is set to a Chaconne for violin by Bach and was previewed at RDT's 1982 Summerdance Workshop. Rose, a choreographer choreo-grapher from New York who is noted for his bright sense of humor was an artist-in-residence at this same workshop where he set "Cocktails for Two" on the company. The piece is accompanied by the music of Spike Jones. "Session" by Lubovitch was choreographed especially especial-ly for RDT in 1975. The piece offers an informal glimpse of ten dancers in rehearsal, their movements drawn from modern, folk and jazz references. McKayle's "Nocturne" is a modern dance classic. Choreographed Choreograph-ed in 1952, it was inspired by the paintings of Paul Gauguin Gau-guin and is performed by five men and four women to the music of Moondog. A striking collection of classic and brand-new choreography cho-reography is scheduled for the second performance of The Repertory Dance Theatre's Thea-tre's home season, February 25 and 26 in the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City. The program's title is "Contemporary Season: Premieres Pre-mieres and Encores." Works by five contemporary choreographers choreo-graphers will be presented -three are premieres: "Wedding" "Wed-ding" by Marina Harris, "The Foreigner" by Carolyn Wood, and "Cocktails for Two" by Mitchell Rose. Two pieces, "Session" by Lar Lubovitch, and Donald McKayle's Mc-Kayle's "Nocturne," are part of RDT's extensive repertory and have been performed before in Utah but not for quite some time.
