Show Fire Station Now Manned Daily Since October, the Park City Fire Station has been manned during the week from 9:00-5:30 daily by three paid firefighters. At the present time Kelly Gee, Mike Reynolds and Jeff Birrenkott report to the station and are on-call in the event of a fire or emergency situation. Because of this, response time during the day, when most of ; the regular volunteers volun-teers are working and not available, has been significantly signifi-cantly lowered. Under the supervision of Captain Kelly Gee, the men are able to perform routine maintenance in the station and keep the vehicles in tip-top working condition during the times they are not responding to emergency calls. Weekend coverage at the station is done on a a volunteer basis. The volunteer volun-teer firefighters man the station during peak traffic times from the resorts. This puts them in a position to respond immediately to an emergency situation instead of having to battle the resort traffic to get to the station. The Park City Fire Protection Protec-tion District has been at tempting to improve fire protection, not only by providing coverage during the day, but by purchasing additional equipment, beefing beef-ing up training sessions, and planning for additional stations sta-tions throughout the District. The public is invited to all Commission meetings, which are held the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 6:00 p.m.atthe Park Avenue Fire Station. Visitors are also welcome during the day when the regular firefighters are on duty. |
