Beautiful Malamutes, Siberians, Huskys and other animals were lined up at a starting line in Midway, UT., this past week, to test the hard work of the dog owners and the dogs. This is the Annual Kang-anark Kang-anark Mushers Heber Valley Dog Sled races. This year they were held at Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway, under beautiful, clear' skies. The dog-sled racers form a club known as the Kangan-ark Kangan-ark Mushers, and they come from all over the west to race on weekends. Heber Valley has its own racer, Frank Vincent, who is the host for the annual event. This years race was plotted out over the Wasatch Mountain State Park Golf course. It was approximately 5 miles in length, and consisted of turns and straightways, with each sled team turning in a time against the clock. The races this year consisted con-sisted of 3,5 and 7 team sled. There were numerous entries, entr-ies, and they all had set intervals to run. Each team would run the course, and then the times would be tallied. The races are becoming more and more popular each year, with the crowds growing grow-ing larger and. larger each year.
