Last week, a seven person committee chose Gardiner Advertising Agency, a Salt Lake City-based firm, as the Park City Area Chamber Bureau's new agency. Gardiner Gardi-ner was selected from a field of sixteen ad firms who wanted to be considered for the review. From those sixteen, seven were selected to give a presentation to the review committee last Thursday. Thurs-day. The review committee consisted con-sisted of seven voting members. mem-bers. The three from the ChamberBureau staff were: Deb Symonds - Executive Director; Kim Anderson -Director of Group Sales; and Marty Peterson - Director of Communications. Representing Represent-ing the membership at large: Bud Raymer - Pro Select Performance Ski Rentals; Peter Sanborn - Village Resorts, Inc.; Colleen Kelly -Deer Valley Resort; and Mike Troup - Aerie Development. Develop-ment. Gardiner received a unanimous unani-mous vote from all committee commit-tee members, although several sev-eral of the agency finalists gave well prepared presentations. presenta-tions. One deciding factor on Gardiner's behalf, was their ability to give strong marketing market-ing direction, followed by a creative approach that fulfilled fulfill-ed their marketing strategies to their intended audience. This was strongly exempli fied to the review committee members by Gardiner's past work with: the Utah Travel Council's winter account (since 1979); Commercial Security Bank (since 1980); Salt Lake Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau (1972-1976); (1972-1976); Howells, Inc. (since 1980); as well as several other clients. The ChamberBureau has been assigned an account team with a strong background back-ground in travel and tourism. Jim Brown, Gardiner's Senior Vice President and part owner, will mainly service the ChamberBureau account. He has had twenty years of advertising agency and marketing experience. |
