District Science Fair bigger and better The 1982 District Science Fair at the Vernal Junior High School last Friday was bigger and better than last year's, said Science Fair organizers. Clark Oviatt, teacher at Vernal Junior High and one of the organizers of the fair, said there were two-thirds more people at the fair's awards program pro-gram than there were last year. "The judges were impressed with the quality of the science projects," Oviatt said. The trophies given out at the award's program supported the fact that the projects were better in that over 70 first, second and third place trophies were given out. In the fourth grade in earth science. Diistin Wochrmann took first. Holly Ewell. second, Shelly Atwood. third; in biological science. Janet Heay took first, Becky Anderson took second and Jared Parrcn, third; in medical dental, Andrew Prollinger toik first, Tyler Nelson, second and Jennifer Terry, third. In the fifth grade in earth science: Ruth Ann Brown, first; Teresa Jones, second; Darlone Jenkins, third. In biological science Danielle Drollinger, first; Heidi I-esh and Rebecca Vincent, second; and Scott Willmes, third. In physical science, Matthew Merrell. first. Kevin Harrison, second, and Robin Calthorpe. third. In medical dental. Krista Hansen, first; Natalie Powell, second; and Margaret Rich, third. Sixth grade winners were: earth science, Cherlyn Peltier, first; Steven Hatch, second. Colleen Case, third. Biological science, Brenda Anderson, first; Brenda Schiller, second and Denise Willyard. third. Physical science. Ken Amaya and Max Spikcr. Biological science first went go Marlynn Smith. Don Sadlicr took second and Wayne Rust placed third. Physical science winners were Scott Young, first; Bart Haslem, second and Jo Ix'Rcau. third. Medical dental winner was Jim Shirley. Winners from the high school were: in biological science, Eric Dethlefsen and Donnie Gragert took first; Paul Cochran placed second and Troy Thomas placed third. In physical science Daniel Troester was the first place w inner. Terry Harwood and Heidi U'Beau took second place and in the medical dental area.
