Show Small business meeting slated for Vernal The State Advisory Council on Small Business is sponsoring a meeting open for all small business owners, operators, or key employees in the Uintah Basin area on Thursday, March 25 in the courtroom of the Uintah County Building, Vernal. The meeting is one of eight regional forums being held across the state as part of the 1982 Utah Conference on Small Business. "The major objective of the 1982 Utah Conference on Small Business is to provide a forum for Utah small business people to identify and set priorities for action at the state level on issues affecting the climate for small business in Utah," states Ray S. Robinson, President of Rio Grande Building Products, Salt Lake City, and Chairman of the State Adivisory Council on Small Business. "At these meetings small business people will discuss issues in the areas of regulations, taxation, and finance. Delegates selected at the regional level will be charged to represent their areas at a statewide meeting in May, along with delegates appointed by the governor and members of the legislature," continued Mr. Robinson. Eight delegates to the state conference con-ference are to be selected at the Vernal meeting. Those wishing to attend should contact chamber of commerce in Duchesne, Roosevelt, or Vernal for additional information, or call the liaison office for the State Advisory Council in Salt Lake City at 533-5325. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with morning discussion sessions on regulation and taxes beginning at 9 a.m. A no-host luncheon will be held at the Lamplighter, followed by an afternoon af-ternoon session on finance and an open forum. Registration fee is $2 with an optional charge of $5 for the luncheon. Organizations supporting the conference con-ference include the Utah Council of Small Business, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Utah Small Business Development Center, the Utah Division of Economic and Industrial Development, and chambers of commerce. |
