Show Cedar High Football Team to Open With Millard Sept. 8 Cedar High Redmcn football team, somewhat hurting for experience ex-perience this year, but not by numbers, will tackle a tough schedule this season and they will start it off with a bang, meeting the defending state Class B champions, Millard, in the season ooc-ht. Coach Hal Ht n will send his Redmcn to t iili.iore to meet the Millard Eagles on Friday, Sept. 8 to open the season. The game is scheduled for the afternoon. after-noon. The following week, on Sept. 15, the Redmen will again be on the road meeting the Dixie Flyers in the first league contest con-test of the season in an evening game at St. George. The Flyers are expected to give the Redmen their toughest battle for the Region 10 championship champ-ionship which the Redmen will be defending again this season. The Redmen have a number of men with some experience that will be back in uniform this season. Kent Farnsworth had considerable experience at the quarterback slot and will be ex-Ppected ex-Ppected to do a good share of the cirrnal rnllinnr thlo cnicnn Kent Smith and Robert Lee are a irir of halfbacks who saw considerable action last season, sea-son, but mostly on defense. They will probably move onto the offensive unit as well this year. Donnic Rpbcrts IS alsrt expected ex-pected to assist In the backfield. On the line, Bill Vorkink at end and Reed Sherratt and James Tullis at tackles have the most experience and will be expected ex-pected to carry a good share of the load through the first few games, Norton stated. |
