Show NEWCASTLE NEWS NOTES j Mrt. Norma Chrlsteiuen With school starting Thurs-! day there are lots of excited kids in town, especially the first graders. It is a wonderful new experience for them. Mrs. Geneva Gillies was happy hap-py to have some of her children and grandchildren visiting her this week. Mrs. Freda Butler and children of Tuscon, Ariz., journeyed to Las Vegas, Nev., to visit a married son living there. Then she and her sister, Mrs. Bonnie Riggs, and her children, child-ren, all journeyed here to visit their mother. Mr. and Mrs. Caine Christensen and children, Lonnie and Vickie, from Las Vegas were visitors this week at the home of their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Chris-Visitors Chris-Visitors at the Melvin Hulet home this past week were two of Mrs. Hulet's sisters, Mrs. Janice Jan-ice Jennings and small son Todd from St. George and Miss Mary Nielsen of Washington. Joy Woolsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Woolsey, was hospitalized hos-pitalized last week with pneumonia. pneu-monia. She has returned home now and is feeling much better. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. William Hart on the arrival arri-val of their newest member of the family. A baby boy was born to them Monday night, August 28. Mr. and Mrs. George Beacham an 1 children and Mrs. Effie Beacham and Fern werc Sur.day visitors in Parowan canyon where they viewed the Indian writings. Mrs. Iva Harrison visited in Summit this week with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Lydiat Morton. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Hulet of Parowan were visitors this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Hulet. Charles and . I ' Claud are brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt and I children journeyed to Milford this week to take their visitors, 1 the children of Al and Mary Raines, home to their parents. They reported that Mary is feeling feel-ing much better after her recent illness. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Sorensen and family journeyed to Lehman's Leh-man's Cave this past week. Sunday School faculty meeting meet-ing was held Sunday morning in the Newcastle Ward. Grover Swallow and Nelson Blake of the Stake Sunday School Board were present. I Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prisbrey of New Harmony were visitors last 'week at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Hulet. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Bowler and family of Enterprise were visitors visit-ors this week at the home of Mrs. Effie Beacham and Fern. Saurament meeting program was given by the Russell Christensen Chris-tensen family. Each member of the family contributed something some-thing to the meeting and it was very interesting. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt and childrerr were Sunday visitors in New Harmony at the home of Bea's father, Low Prince and other family members. |
