Show Airman Recognized for Unselfish Service The following clipping taken from the Wichita Falls (Texas) Times and Record News, recently and given to us by Mrs. Frank Decker concerns Airman l.C Franklin J. Slack formerly of Ce- dar City and husband of Sandra Decker Slack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Decker of Parowan. Paro-wan. The clipping is as follows: Cited for unselfish service for his fellowmen. Airmen l.C. Franklin J. Slack, 3760th school squadron at Sheppard Air Force Base was presented an award of merit Monday by the Wichita Falls times and Record News. Slack has donated ten pints of blood to help save the lives of strangers who required blood transfusions to survive. He was named a member of the Red Cross Gallon Club and warmly praised by blood center officials for generous donations. Assigned to Sheppard since February 1959, he previously served overseas at Okinawa. With his wife, Sandra, and their two children, Russell and Lorl Ann, he lives a 1109 Fourteenth. They attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. |
