Show PARAGOUAH NEWS NOTES I Mrs. Hilma Lamoreoux Sammy Lister, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lister, represented the Parowan High School at last week's Freedom Academy sponsored spon-sored by the National Guard at Camp Williams. He left here on Sunday for Jordan Narrows to spend a week and enjoyed a fine time. He reports that they were made aware of the responsibilities responsibili-ties of Freedom. Recreational activities ac-tivities were enjoyed and on Friday Fri-day evening a banquet was held. Sammy arrived home Saturday after traveling to Cedar City by airplane. Young Cl'nton Topham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Topham, was operated on at the Iron County Hospital Thursday of last week for appendicitis. Charles Murie Is here from Salt Lake City visiting with the Ivan Kobb family. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Butterfield and children of Ogden arrived here Monday, Aug. 21, to spend the week with Mrs. Butterfield's mother, Mrs. Myrtle Abbott and other fni.nily members. During the week they visited the parks of the area, accompanie dby Mrs. Abbott. They were accompanied part of the time by Mrs. Arvilla Lister and members of the Howard How-ard Rasmussen family of Parowan. Paro-wan. On Friday all available members of the group, including the Myorn Abbott family, enjoyed enjoy-ed a picnic at Parowan Five Mile. Mrs. Roene Lund and daughter daugh-ter Gayle traveled to St. George Saturday to attend a Lund family fam-ily reunion. They were accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Betty Smith and children of Parowan and the He-ber He-ber Lunds of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Duncan of Salt Lake City visited here last week end. Mrs. Helen Jean Stubbs and her new daughter Jeannette came to Paragonah from the Iron County hospital Friday They plan to stay here for a week or so with Mrs. Stubb's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dal-ton. Dal-ton. Bishop and Mrs. James H. Anderson An-derson traveled to Kanab on Sunday to bring their son Lamar home. He has been employed at Kanab during the summer months. Justin Fairbanks of Salt Lake City arrived here Saturday to join his wife and children, who have been visiting with the Orson Or-son Talbots. Mrs. Lois McConnell of Cedar City and her son Richard, who was on leave from the Air Furce, visited in Paragonah one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis El-lis R. Robinson. Mrs. Shirley Lister and son Larry Lee were in town for a day last week, coming from Las Vegas. Larry was on leave after completing his basic training at Fort Ord, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Empey of Salt Lake City were in town one day last week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Bentley and their children were here from Mt. Pleasant to spend the week end with Mrs. Bentley's mother, Mrs. Gwen Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Yardley of Phillipsburg, Montana, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Heffner of Beaver were in town Sunday visiting with relatives. Ed Keil and daughter Rosemary Rose-mary of Chino, Calif., visited with the T. A. Robinsons Thursday Thurs-day of last week. Mrs. Idella Robinson spent several days in Summit with the Dee White family last week. Mina Lamoreaux arrived home Tuesday ot last weeK alter a ten-day ten-day visit with the H. N. Harris family of Salt Lake City. Bishop and Mrs. James H. Anderson An-derson and Mrs. Hannah Robinson Robin-son traveled to St. George Thursday Thurs-day for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Job F. Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Smith and their family of Montpelier, Idaho, arrived here Friday to spend the week end visiting with members mem-bers of Mrs. Smith's family. They were guests at the Boyd Robinson home. Mr. and Mrs. Errol Lamoreaux and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burton and son Mike traveled to Glen Canyon Dam ami Tage, Arizona Saturday. They had a very pleasant pleas-ant trip. Mrs. Maxine Barton and daughter Phyllis of Milford spent Sunday here visiting at the Wilson Lund home. Miss Sandra Hue Robinson Is spending some time with relatives rela-tives In Moah. She plans to attend at-tend school there. Primary will begin again on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 3:45 p. m. The organization has had summer sum-mer recess for the past few i weeks. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham enjoyed enjoy-ed having family members visit with her the past week end. Sa- turday Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Stevens Stev-ens of Salt Lake City arrived for an overnight visit. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Stevens and daughters Joan and Portia of Mt. Pleasant came to visit until Monday. |
